Charleston is one of the oldest forms of Swing dancing. It began in the early 1920’s as a dance chuggy, fun dance for flappers and couples who wanted to match the first layed back beets of swing. This goofy and fun dance is characterized by the kick step and the heavy pulse. Watch the Demo!!
Blues dancing is a beautiful dance that has no basic step. It feels cooler than it looks and it helps people develop their basics of connection, lead-follow skills and deeper richer movement. Watch the Demo!!
Lindy hop is considered by some the pinacle of the swing era dances. This dance has a complicated basic step but allows the freedom to interact with almost any form of music (though especially Jazz and Big Band Music). Watch the Demo!!
East Cost Swing is actually a derivative of the Lindy Hop. It was invented to make a simple swing step so that everyone could join in the fun! This dance teaches connection and what people typically think of when they hear the term Swing! Watch the Demo!!

Proper Footwear:
We recommend tennis shoes for workshops or any shoes that you are comfortable standing for long periods of time.
Venue Location:
The Workshop is located in Bellevue at Dance in Bloom Studio:
Dance in Bloom is located in Bellevue, TN off Coley Davis Rd. From I-40W, take Exit 196, turn left on to Highway 70S going towards the Bellevue Mall and then take the first right onto Coley Davis Rd. After you go around the curve and go straight for about a minute, turn LEFT into the first building complex past the soccer fields. It’s hard to see in the dark, so drive slowly and look for the Dance in Bloom sign. The buildings look like apartments. If you pass houses then you have gone too far!
The address is 7982 Coley Davis Road, Nashville, TN 37221.
