EDUCATION/ACTIVISM:

POLITICIZATION OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

ABOUT THIS PAST INITIATIVE

As a result of the renewed focus on sexual assault in the national dialogue, the Vanderbilt Sexual Assault & Prevention (VSAP) Committee has held two panels in order to educate the student body on what is happening and how to take action. The high profile accusations of sexual assault against SCOTUS Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Sec. of Education Betsy DeVos’s proposed Title IX changes were polemic topics on campus, and we wanted to provide a forum for discussion and a way to limit misinformation on the topics. Moreover, each event included a call to action with direct ways for students to get involved.
