Carter Powers

Deputy Chief of Staff

The Deputy Chief of Staff is charged with assisting the Chief of Staff in the management of Cabinet, facilitating a feedback and accountability system, spearheading any other internal matters, and pursuing and organizing policy initiatives.

Carter Powers is double majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Medicine, Health, & Society. Carter is from Unicoi, Tennessee, where he has lived his entire life. Before serving as Deputy Chief of Staff, Carter served as Director of Human Resources and the Gillette House President. Outside of VSG, Carter is involved with AED, Vanderbilt College Democrats, Dore for a Day, VUcept, and Tutoring at Napier Elementary School. Carter hopes to attend medical school after graduation and either go into emergency medicine, cardiology, or anesthesiology. In his free time, Carter loves to hang out with his friends, try new places to eat, and see new sights around Nashville and elsewhere.
