Don’t be afraid to schedule a meeting with your Financial Aid Officer to review your aid if you need more. There may be more ways to help cover the college expenses, such as taking out a small loan or waving the cost of Vanderbilt’s Health Insurance if you are required to have the school health plan!
There are many cheaper alternatives to Barnes and Noble when it comes to shopping for your textbooks. The campus bookstore charges high prices and it may help you save a lot of money for the semester. Make sure you plan ahead and check if your book needs an access code and if the other providers will give you a new copy or an unused code for the course.
If you have to purchase the Student Health Insurance, ask your financial aid officer to give you the form to request additional financial assistance. If you fill it out, you can get a little over $1000 off the Student Health Insurance charge!
