Vanderbilt Women in Business empowers future female leaders by engaging a network of advocates for businesswomen’s ambitions. Everything we do is about creating networking opportunities for our members. Through our programming, we hope that students meet and forge strong relationships with business people that can provide expert career guidance. Our programs are designed to ultimately create a community that recognizes the value women bring to the business world.

We accomplish our mission through three program tracks:

Speaker Series Event

Mentorship Program

Career Services Events

In the 2015 Spring term, six undergraduate women sought to disrupt Vanderbilt’s business community by founding Vanderbilt’s first women in business organization. Our first event, hosted in March, was a panel of four successful businesswomen that attracted a sizeable audience of 50 students. Through Managerial Studies’ sponsorship, we officially launched WIB in September with a successful Kickoff event that engaged 200 students and 20 businesswomen. We proceeded to bring in high-profile speakers in our Speaker Series event, such as the former CEO of DuPont, and partner with companies like Google and KPMG to host private recruiting events. We also introduced 70 students to 35 businesswomen with the launch of our Mentorship Program in November. In this time, Team WIB grew from 6 co-founders to over 20 student leaders all eager to create a community that empowers future female leaders.
