Hip Hop Public Health
At Hip Hop Public Health, we harness the transformative power of music, art, and culture to inspire positive health choices for young people and their families. We partner with legendary hip hop artists to create culturally-relevant, science-based, multimedia educational resources that get students excited to learn about healthy literacy knowledge and skills. The organization’s Volunteer Program connects college students with elementary-aged students in their local communities. Students volunteer in local schools to provide interactive health education lessons using Hip Hop Public Health materials that inspire positive health choices among young people.

Hip Hop Public Health volunteers will be partnered with a Nashville public elementary school and visit throughout the school year to facilitate fun, hip-hop-based lessons about important health topics for students in grades 3-5.

Volunteers will be part of a dynamic community dedicated to advancing health equity, with opportunities for learning first-hand about health education, social determinants of health, and approaches for mitigating health disparities.
