Academic Integrity Programs
The Undergraduate Honor Council (UHC) hosts a number of programs throughout the academic year designed to educate students on the value of academic integrity. Each year, the UHC collaborates with Vanderbilt’s Student Affairs division to host the Community Commitment Ceremony for incoming students. The UHC also hosts their signature program, Academic Integrity Week, every year in the spring semester. Pop-up events around midterms and final exams are also common.
Academic Integrity Week 2025: Celebrating 150 Years of Honor
The Honor Code was instituted at Vanderbilt in 1875, the same year that classes were held for the first time. Since 1900, the responsibility of upholding the Honor Code has been entrusted to the undergraduate student body through the Undergraduate Honor Council.
This spring, we celebrate 150 years since the Honor Code was first signed by Vanderbilt students and 125 years since the first student honor committee was created.
