About Us

Founded in 1895, Vanderbilt University Concert Choir (VUCC) has a rich tradition of making beautiful music together and traveling on an annual spring tour to cities that have included Charlotte and Charleston, Savannah and Orlando, Chicago and St. Louis, and Washington, DC. We are the oldest performing arts group on campus and the keepers of the Vanderbilt Alma Mater.

Comprised of students from all four undergraduate schools within the university, the Concert Choir is known not only for our great and varied music selection, but for our family-like atmosphere as well.

In the business world, Mr. Warford is the President of Brian’s Custom Theaters and Hi-Fi, a firm that specializes in the sales, design, and installation of home electronics systems. He has worked in the home electronics industry for over 30 years.

Mr. Warford’s interests include cooking, travel, watching movies in his home theater, and home remodeling and construction.

Amanda Dembiec

Collaborative Pianist

Amanda has played the piano her whole life. She started taking lessons at the age of 5 and her training culminated at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Jean-Louis Haguenauer. Choir has always been a big part of her life, and she is excited to be joining VUCC as the accompanist.

Amanda moved to Nashville from Indiana after graduation, and she works at the library. She and her husband Nick have two cats named after Italian cities. When she’s not practicing, Amanda spends her free time reading just about anything, baking delicious treats, and sitting in Nashville traffic.

Mission Statement

VUCC is organized for the purpose of furthering musical appreciation on Vanderbilt’s campus, promoting the enjoyment of group singing, and representing Vanderbilt in performances both on and off campus. Concert Choir is committed to fostering a socially and financially inclusive community where all choirites feel welcomed and valued at all times.
