Student Executive Board 2017-2018
Mardi Caminer, Student President
Mardi Caminer is a senior studying Special Education and Child Studies. Originally from Chicago, Mardi’s involvement with Hillel started freshman year, when she helped found the Vanderbilt chapter of Challah for Hunger and was a member of the FYSH board. She went on Hillel Spring Break in Panama during her sophomore year and spent her Junior spring studying abroad in Prague. When she’s not at Hillel, you can find Mardi at Relay for Life meetings or eating apples with peanut butter. Ask Mardi about life as a twin, her favorite Jeni’s ice cream flavor or student teaching. She is so excited to serve in this role and hopes she can make Hillel as much of a home for other students as it’s been for her.
Jackie Eissman, Co-VP of Programming
Hi! My name is Jackie Eissman, and I’m a junior from Northbrook, Illinois, majoring in Cognitive Studies and Neuroscience. I am currently serving as one of the Co-Vice Presidents of Programming for Vanderbilt Hillel. Last year, I was one of the Co-Membership Vice Presidents, as well as co-chaired the Big FYSH/Little FYSH program. Outside of Hillel, I serve as the Vice President of Outreach for Relay for Life, and I’m in a sorority. Being on Hillel leadership is important to me, because I love inspiring students on campus to become involved with Hillel and love helping them to become a part of the Hillel community that is so welcoming and special. I can’t wait to work with this year’s students and plan lots of great Hillel programs!
Yamila Saiegh, Co-VP of Programming
Hello! My name is Yamila Saiegh and I am a junior from Miami, Florida. I am double majoring in Human & Organizational Development and Sociology and this year I will be serving as one of the Co-Vice Presidents of Programming Board. Last year I was on the Programming Board as well as the Director of Marketing at Challah for Hunger. Outside of Hillel, I am active in Relay for Life and Greek Life. Hillel helped make Vanderbilt feel more like home, and I am looking forward to doing the same for other students.
Andrea Liberman, VP of Membership
Hi! My name is Andrea Liberman and I’m a junior from Centerville, Ohio. I’m double majoring in Cognitive Studies and Economics with a Corporate Strategy minor. I am the Vice President of Membership and Engagement and love working with the first years on campus! I coordinate the Big/Little FYSH (First Year Students of Hillel) program that matches first years with upperclassmen mentors, as well as the FYSH Leadership Board that helps first years develop their leadership abilities. I enjoy having an impact on students’ first impressions of both Vanderbilt and Hillel and helping students figure out their own Jewish identity. Outside of Hillel, I am involved in Women in Business, Kappa Delta sorority, and am a research assistant in a Psychology lab.
Emily Groff, VP of Jewish Life
Hello! My name is Emily Groff and I am the Vice President of Jewish Life at Hillel. I am a Junior studying music education and saxophone from Miami Beach, Florida. I Songlead Friday night services at Hillel and served this past year on the Jewish Life Committee. Outside of Hillel I am in Greek Life, Vanderbilt Wind Symphony, University Concert Band, and Sigma Alpha Iota. Jewish Life on campus is important to me because Jewish students should have a place to feel at home with their new Jewish community. My first Friday night service was the first time I felt at home at Vanderbilt and I hope to continue making Hillel’s Jewish Life feel like home.
Sydney Hanan, VP of Israel Affairs
Hi! My name is Sydney, and I am the president of Dores for Israel (DFI). I am a junior from Sarasota, Florida, double-majoring in Human and Organizational Development and Spanish with a minor in Corporate Strategy. I’ve been involved with Hillel since my first year at Vanderbilt, and I have served on the FYSH, Challah for Hunger, and DFI boards. I spent this past summer living in Israel and completing an internship in Tel Aviv, and I am really excited to bring some of my experiences back to share with the rest of Vanderbilt this year! Outside of Hillel, I am involved in Greek life and I teach Hebrew school at a local synagogue.

Evan Suzman, Treasurer
My name is Evan Suzman and I am a junior from Scarsdale, New York. I am majoring in History and Child Development and minoring in Chemistry.
