The road to releasing \u201cBetter With You\u201d has been a long one for McCartney. His fans have been waiting almost four years since \u2018In Technicolor,\u2019 one of Spin Magazine\u2019s Top Pop Albums of 2014. \u201cAfter the last album, I put a lot of pressure on myself and it stalled me for a period of time. A friend invited me to come to Nashville to do a songwriting camp for other artists,\u201d McCartney recollects. \u201cIt was exactly what I needed to get out of my own head and gave me a huge amount of creative purpose and energy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The deliberate attention McCartney pays to his craft is evident in the new songs he is gearing up to release this year. The acoustic-guitar-driven \u201cBetter With You\u201d is more sonically organic than the stylized, \u201980s-inspired songs on \u2018In Technicolor.\u2019 \u201cIt feels fresh and contemporary to me,\u201d McCartney says, adding that the song represents true love and what it\u2019s like to have a partner you can rely on for everything who understands you to your core. \u201cThis is a really strange time,\u201d he says. \u201cThings are contentious.
