Brief History: The Vanderbilt Programming Board Homecoming Committee was formalized in the late 90s, early 2000s. It was created to unify all campus Homecoming activities. The Homecoming Committee works tirelessly to provide interesting activities to incite enthusiasm for Vanderbilt athletics and alumni relations. These events include spirit activities (Banner Competition, Volleyball Tournament, Block Party and Commodore Cup competition), service activities and the Outstanding Senior Award.

Impact on Campus: The Homecoming activities unite undergraduates, graduates, alumni, and the greater Nashville community under the umbrella of pride and excitement for Vanderbilt University. The committee accomplishes this by:

*Encouraging student participation in activities, such as volleyball, banner competition, dinner and trivia night, block party and student alumni tailgate.
*Partnered with the Red Cross to host a Blood Drive
*Promoted interaction between current undergraduate students, alumni, and the Nashville community
*Provided marketing and garnered student support for the Vanderbilt Football Homecoming Game
*Recognized Outstanding Seniors for their accomplishments

Donating blood during Homecoming week is a simple yet powerful way to save lives. Every donation can help up to three people in need, from accident victims to those undergoing surgery or battling illnesses like cancer. By donating, you’re directly contributing to the health and well-being of others, making an immediate, life-changing impact in your community. Plus, it’s a way to give back and feel good knowing you’ve made a difference!

☕ Homecoming Coffee Pop-Up☕ – Rand Wall | Noon – 2:00 p.m.
Kick off Homecoming week with a warm cup of coffee! Join us for a special coffee pop-up featuring delicious brews and cozy vibes. Come sip, mingle, and celebrate being a Commodore. Anchor Down and drink up!

Join us in the Sarratt Gallery for one of our Homecoming programs! We invite all students, faculty, and staff to stop by for a photo and be sure to wear your black and gold/Vanderbilt gear. And keep your eyes peeled, you never know what special guest might pop in to photobomb your picture!

Anchor Down T-Shirt Popup – Rand Wall | Noon – 2:00 p.m.
Get ready, Commodores! VPB is giving free Homecoming T-shirts “Anchor Down Always,” to the first 200 students, so grab yours and show your spirit as we kick off Homecoming.

Goat Yoga – Kensington Lawn | 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (25)/5:00 p.m. –6:00 p.m. (25)
As you navigate the challenges of academics at Vanderbilt, it’s natural for stress levels to rise. A great way to manage that stress is by joining us for Goat Yoga! Come relax, unwind, and enjoy some fun yoga with adorable baby goats. It’s the perfect way to recharge and de-stress!

🎊Block Party🎶 – Library Lawn | Noon – 2:30 p.m.
Join us for this year’s Vanderbilt Block Party, a special Homecoming and Reunion celebration uniting students and alumni! Come together to enjoy delicious eats from local food trucks, lively performances from Vanderbilt’s Performing Arts Community, giveaways and a full afternoon of fun and connection.

🏐Vanderbilt Volleyball vs. Tennessee Giveaway | 7:00 p.m.
Get ready to cheer on our Vanderbilt Women’s Volleyball team as they take on that school from the east during Homecoming Week! Vandy Fanatics will be on hand with awesome giveaways, so wear your black and gold, bring the energy, and show your support for the DORES!

Homecoming Tailgate – West End Neighborhood | Noon – 2:00 p.m.
Join us for our Homecoming Tailgate as we get fired up to cheer on the Commodores against Auburn! Enjoy delicious free food and exciting giveaways before the big game.

Outstanding Senior Presentation – First Bank Stadium | 4:15 p.m. (Presentation)
During halftime of the Vanderbilt vs. Auburn football game, we’ll announce and celebrate the student body’s choice for the 2025 Outstanding Senior Award!  Join us as we recognize this year’s recipient for their exceptional leadership, service, and impact on the Vanderbilt community.
