One big family
Alternative Thanksgiving & Winter Break is a student-run organization built on the foundation of education, service, and reflection. We offer service sites across the country with opportunities that range in topic from environmental conservation to homelessness, poverty, and more. We pair you with 11 other Vanderbilt students and help you foster meaningful relationships with people from every corner of campus. ATWB is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in service and learn a lot about yourself, others, and the service you’re performing.

Alternative Thanksgiving Break: November 24th – November 30th
Alternative Winter Break: December 15th – December 21st
OUR SITES
Participation Cost: $325
In order to avoid internal selection bias based on socioeconomic background, we standardize the cost for all trips to the same flat fee. We want to give everyone the same opportunity to participate in the site of their choosing. $325 covers all food, housing, and transportation fees during the trip. Financial aid is also available and the application is live on AnchorLink.
