She worked with discovering more effective treatment regimens for malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors, but is currently conducting infectious disease research in the Lacy Lab at VUMC. He is a research assistant for the Bowden Biomedical Optics Laboratory, where he studies algorithmic approaches to streamlining cancer surveillance. He is specifically developing a real-time clinician guidance system to improve cystoscopy frame quality and produce successful 3D bladder reconstructions. I have worked as an undergraduate research assistant for the Schrag Lab for the past two years where I am working on characterizing a neuronal cell type\u2019s inflammatory effects that contribute to markers, such as fibrosis, that are observed in Alzheimer\u2019s patients. I am excited to serve as one of your programming coordinators because I am passionate about making science and research more accessible!<\/p>\n

She has been a research assistant in Dr. Catie Chang\u2019s lab since her freshman year <\/span>working on computational fMRI analysis to examine how fMRI patterns linked with vigilance relate to cognitive impairment in the aging brain<\/span>. Outside of research, she enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music, and exploring different restaurants in Nashville.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the summer of 2022, Maya has been working in McMahon lab, studying the circadian rhythms of honey bees. She is working to develop new tools to study the structure of honey bee biological clock.
